And has the time. Upside-maybe he will find something better, or equally as good. And no downside really because he can be really picky in his search knowing this other job is waiting for him if he doesn't find something better. Also, knowing he already has a job lined up (even if it is uncertain when it will start) will really take the pressure off if he goes on a job interview. I find I do really well in job interviews when I don't really need/care to get the job. If he does end up getting another job, he doesn't have to feel bad about turning down this one (she said they would understand).
