Okay, I promise to do fewer posts soon about buying and consumerism. But the days leading up to Black Friday are always pretty exciting for me, as I can get peeks of what ridiculous prices we’ll have access to.
So does anyone have any targeted purchases in mind for Black Friday?
If not, how are you handling holiday shopping this year?
As mentioned repeatedly, Tim’s getting a PS3 this Christmas. What hasn’t been mentioned is what we’ll pay. I’m still waiting on $50 of MyPoints Amazon gift codes and one $25 code from an offer I completed. Then, we’ll have $271.94 of the $299.99 cost. And, thanks to buying online, no sales tax. (Here in AZ, that would be nearly $30 tacked on to the price.)
One of the main reasons he wants a PS3 is for the God of War series, so he’s asking for all three games plus one in PSP format, Ghosts of Olympus. The first two are in a bundle at Overstock.com for a whopping $28. The other two, though, are still hovering around normal pricing. So I warned him that one may have to wait until we see what gift cards my mom sends us. Often, one of Tim’s is to GameStop.
Beyond that, there are a couple smaller items, but the PS3 is pretty much the focal point of the holiday. Granted, I have no idea what I want for Christmas, and I’d bet Tim hasn’t decided what to get me, either.
So what is on your shopping list? What have you penciled in for Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales?
