Sorry I’ve been quiet, but there just hasn’t been much news.
We have an appointment at Planned Parenthood Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. They’ll do a sonogram to confirm the pregnancy halted. There’s this sad little part of me that keeps thinking they’ll find a heartbeat, and that this has all been a mistake. It will be very disappointed.
Once that procedure is done, we can talk to the doctor about medication vs D&C and get the second appointment scheduled. They won’t do anything at the same appointment as the sonogram, which I guess makes sense since the vast majority of women they see are confirming a pregnancy. No need to rush to judgment. And at least this way my coworkers will get a few days’ notice before they have to scramble to cover me.
Otherwise, not a lot to report. I’m catching back up on our finances, which slid into neglect over the last month. Happily, having Mom here meant we actually grocery shopped and mainly ate in. So we spent significantly less than normal. Which means that, though finances were ignored, they didn’t crash horribly. I sent out my taxes, used my bonus to pay off the new bed, and generally set things up for the next three weeks of our budget cycle. The only thing left is to actually get around to writing myself a paycheck this month. Oops.
Beyond that, I’ve just been burying myself in TV and movies with Tim. We’re even checking out the Sarah Jane Chronicles on Hulu. Incidentally, if anyone wants to build and send me a K9, I promise to love him and scratch behind his lil radar dish ears. Sooo cute.
And, as the title of this post implies, I’ve been trying to bury myself in Pokemon. Tim wants me to get a team to battle against him. Normally, I play a game through story mode and then am done, so this is contrary to all my instincts. But if I’m going to build a team, I’ve got to make sure it’s a damn good one — if for no other reason than the fact that Tim’s been building his for months.
So I’m dabbling in Pokemon breeding, which is a long, involved process , but there’s a certain pleasant monotony to it. I even seem to be halfway decent at it. For any of you who actually play Pokemon (and I know it’s very few) I already have a Gale Winds Fletchling with three perfect IVs. Not bad for a newbie.
Sadly, that really is all the news that’s worth reporting. I’ll let you guys know if anything exciting happens. At the very least, I’ll let you know on Tuesday how the appointment goes.
