This is a lean month, thanks to the time off from the miscarriage. So Tim and I have been trying to lay low. I suppose we’re actually laying just as low as other months, but this time it’s intentional. So we get to take credit for it.
It happens that we bought a big bottle of vodka a couple of weeks ago for a party. Turns out, the person throwing the party had more than enough. So we decided not to let it go to waste. Instead, we got some juice and started a good ole’ fashioned drinking game.
Alas, our pickings were a little slim. So we started to watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians. (I can feel your opinion of me dropping.) But I assure you that we spent most of the time ridiculing everyone in Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
This kind of game is pretty simple. You just watch a couple of episodes to determine which are the most annoying traits — or, if you’re determined to get drunk, the ones that just happen the most — and take a drink when it happens. For example, when Kris lies to Bruce, when Kris makes everything about her, when Kim acts like a brat, etc. Don’t worry, we took small sips to preserve our livers.
So a few nights of sitting around of drinking, eating popcorn (oh so much popcorn!) and yelling at people on the screen has been a lot of fun. It’s also been a nice change of pace. Staying at home is the only way we both get to be tipsy, so it’s been novel.
In less alcoholic news, we’ve also been reading the Game of Thrones. I’ve been reading it out loud, so it’s slow going. But that means plenty of time just chilling out together. And that’s pretty much the point of coupledom, right?
Do you guys ever play drinking games? How do you chill out with your significant other (or friends or whatever)?
