Quick update that is. (I’m so sneaky!)
I know I did a financial update not too long ago, but all the money from this month’s paycheck has finally transferred over. I figured it was time to look at our progress.
So drumroll please….
Savings: Balance is $12,938.12. That’s 52% of what we need. Just gotta keep plugging away.
Emergency fund: We’re at $5,271.98. It was $5,000 a few months ago, but then I calculated bare bones budget. Turns out we didn’t have quite three months’ worth. Given our other savings goals, we can’t spare much. So for now, it’s building by $50 a month. Slow but steady.
Vacation — aka Get-Abby-to-FinCon — fund: Currently at $701.21. Mom and I stay a few days after the conference, which hikes up the price significantly. Even splitting the room cost, we’ll pay around $575 each. Plus general expenses and, oh yeah, the plane ticket. At least I’ll get refunded the FinCon ticket now that I’m on one of the panels.
Washer/dryer fund: Shockingly, this has accrued $307.32 in just over a year. Pretty impressive at just $2.50 a load. Another four or five years, and we can cover the cost of new units. (Dear current washer/dryer: Don’tbreakdon’tbreakdon’tbreak.)
The dog fund: We’ve got $106.07. A long time ago, I promised Tim the next pet would be a dog. Now that Sandy’s gone, I’m putting away the $27 a month from her Banfield plan. The pup will come after the teeth debacle, so we should have around $300 when all is said and done.
Saved Savings: With 10 days to go, the balance is $165.94. Not quite as impressive as last month’s $230, But I project it’ll come in around $190.
