I’ve joined Pinterest. [Deity] help me.
I’ve only recently gotten into a groove on the Twitter front. Another social media platform made me want to run and hide.
Not to mention that Pinterest seems to be a hub for decorating/organizing/crafts suggestions. The last thing I need right now is the temptation of “easy” DIY projects. Those inevitably don’t come easily to me, are an exhausting time suck and leave me unsatisfied with our current decorations, furniture or whatever.
But I’ve been hearing about how integral it is to blog growth. So I’ve known for some time that I needed to do it. I just didn’t want to do it right that moment.
What finally pushed me was Believe in a Budget’s recent post about her skyrocketing numbers.
So I’m now on the damn thing. If you/your blog are on Pinterest, please consider adding me. You can use the icon in the “Connect With Me” section in the sidebar or just find me through this link.
Meanwhile, I now just have to learn new skills like setting up boards and learning how to do attractive images. I’m not even sure where to find more vertical pictures for the damn things. Suggestions are appreciated.
The other bit of news: Now you can hire me.
Yep, I’ve jumped on the “Hire Me” tab bandwagon. There’s now a whole page describing my awesome skillz. Yes, the z was intentional. Yes, I already regret it.
I was set up to mentor someone at FinCon. I went through her work and gave a lot of suggestions on how to tighten up her writing, find a balance between the fact that she was blogging for a company and a more personal voice to engage the reader, etc.
So I got to thinkin’… Maybe other people will want (and pay for) such things.
I know most bloggers think they’re good enough, but is “good enough” all we should strive for? Incidentally, I’m not just saying that to get people to hire me. It’s something I wonder when bloggers say that kind of stuff. Which is often.
Anyway, it costs me nothing to slap up a Hire Me page. We’ll see whether I get any nibbles.
Are you on Pinterest? Is it as dangerous as I think? Also, seriously, please follow me on there.
