I’ve seen a lot of these posts lately, and I’m all about jumping on blogging bandwagons. So here’s a review of the last few months’ progress.
I started getting back into the blogging community — reading and commenting on other blogs — in June. But I didn’t get Kristin going on my Pinterest in earnest until late November. (Join me on there — 266 people can’t be wrong!)
So I think we need to separate pre- and post-Pinterest:
Average June to November (rounded)
Average December (rounded)
Sessions: 17,500 sessions
Media.net (started mid-December): $6.61 for the month
Average January with 12 hours to go (rounded)
Sessions: 18,500 sessions
Media.net: $11.23 for the month
Pinterest: 266 followers
Facebook: 339 likes
And that’s with the aforementioned traffic/AdSense killing hiatus!
So what next?
Now’s the part when I have to set goals. And I have no clue what to shoot for.
On the one hand, the blog is back to clipping along nicely. Burnout appears to be over, which means my traffic and AdSense should go up. On the other hand, February is a short month, and I don’t want to discourage myself by missing my goals.
So let’s be cautiously optimistic. In February, I want my stats to be:
Media.net: $15 for the month
Pinterest: 350 followers
Facebook: 375 likes
Of course, starting the month with something boring like “State of the Blog” may not be the best way to start the month. But half the point of blogging is to keep yourself on target, right? Also, I hope you guys are at least somewhat invested in seeing the blog succeed, which means you might find this interesting. Plus, to be completely honest, I’m working on a larger, more serious/emotional post for Tuesday. And I only have so much brain power to go around.
But mostly the first two.
Do my goals seem realistic? Are there any other metrics I should consider? To the bloggers who read me: What are your goals for February?
