Even if you’re not attending FinCon, you can still get some of the PF-nerdy goodness with “Your Money, Live!” which is a sort of FinCon-lite.
The event offers a chance to listen to well-known personal finance speakers, attend one of four workshops and attend Ignite. You can get specifics via Mom’s post on the subject.
The bit about the Ignite event is important because there’s an after-event networking party. To my knowledge there are no competing events in that time block, so my guess is that you’ll see a fair number of FinCon attendees there.
So if you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, this is your chance to the education of FinCon and the chance to geek out with your favorite PF bloggers (which includes Mom and me, right?) without the cumulative exhaustion of a four-day conference.
It’s a lot cheaper too. You’ll pay $39 (speakers gotta get paid, folks) for the whole shebang. That’s a pretty good deal when you look at the activities offered.
So if you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and have Friday October 27th free, I hope you’ll join us. (If you do, please consider using the link in Mom’s post. It helps her out with a small affiliate commission.)
Thus far FrugalStrong has signed up, and I’m excited to meet her. I’d love to meet you guys too!
And if you’re not interested in that event? Well, Mom and I are amenable to a Saturday meet-up if you’re interested.
We haven’t set up anything specific yet because we’re not really sure how many readers are in the area. So please let us know if you’d be interested in meeting up between late morning to early afternoon. If Saturday doesn’t work for you, I (but probably not Mom) will have some free time between about 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Just let us know and we’ll work something out.
