Our friends are getting married soon, and they’ve said they don’t need anything.
The site also says that they’re constantly doing home improvement projects and enjoy travel. So it would always be appreciated if we decided to contribute to that fund, including any help with home improvement projects.
I wouldn’t subject someone to my level of home improvement knowledge/ability. I’ll leave my precarious efforts to our own house. Which leaves gift cards.
I don’t want to choose a GC to an airline or Hotels.com or wherever because they may not want to use that company. So we’re going to be getting them a Home Depot gift card.
The question is how big of one?
I’ve been to one and Tim’s been to two weddings in the past 12 years. In both cases we had to travel to get there, so our present was our presence.
In other words, I have no idea what’s an appropriate amount for a gift anymore. (And from what I can tell, it’s a hotly debated issue anyway.) I don’t want to cheap out on friends, but I also don’t want to spend too much.
Especially because it looks like I’ll need a new (to me) dress. My old ones are either too big or not appropriate — or both. Goodwill 50% off sale here I come!
So tell me: What’s the right sized wedding gift?
