That’s my recipe for a good Christmas, anyway.
Admittedly, this year will be a little lonely without Tim and his parents. I haven’t celebrated a Christmas alone for more than a decade, so it’ll definitely be a bit too quiet around here.
I’ll be working which will help. I don’t generally mind working Christmas because so few people write in over the course of the day that I get paid for not doing much at all. And this year it’ll help keep me at least a little bit occupied.
Other than that, I’m going to keep up my yearly tradition of watching A Muppet Christmas Carol and I’ll probably throw some other modern Christmas-y movies into the mix. And of course I’m going to load up on some of my favorite foods/junk foods, so that I can gobble down some goodies. Because it’s Christmas, darn it. And if you can’t indulge on Christmas then what’s the point? I mean, other love and goodwill and all that.
It won’t be all alone time, though. A MeetUp group I just joined is doing trivia and tamales in the evening. I may miss the tamales portion, but I’ll be there in time for the holiday movie trivia. I have no idea whether I’ll be any help, but at least I’ll be out and talking to people. That’s what counts.
So those are my big Christmas plans. Perhaps a little more solitary than I’d like, but I’ll make it work.
How do you celebrate Christmas?
